Sustainable camelina-based Aviation Fuel arrives at MSP!
Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) blended with winter camelina, a cover crop that Minnetonka-based Cargill helped grow using innovations from the University of Minnesota's Forever Green initiative, arrived at Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport this fall. Delta and the Minnesota SAF Hub celebrated with a symbolic flight to mark the milestone of SAF entering the MSP fuel supply for the first time. Delta aims to one day make MSP the first airport where all of its flights use SAF. Read more.
Students explore medical careers at Mashkiki Maaginigan event
White Earth Nation youth in grades 7 through 12 gathered in October at White Earth Tribal Community College for the Mashkiki Maaginigan event, designed to inspire students to explore careers in health and science. The event was sponsored by the University's Center of American Indian and Minority Health, the Medica Foundation, and White Earth Tribal & Community College. Read more.
UnitedHealth Group partners on a new course for UMN medical students
The University of Minnesota Medical School has launched a new elective course for fourth-year medical students, co-created by the University and UnitedHealth Group. With an emphasis on efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective care that leads to better patient outcomes, the course teaches students the fundamentals of value-based care and the skills to successfully implement it in their future clinical practices. University joins SCALE workforce development partnership
The University of Minnesota is one of three institutions in the state to join the Scalable Asymmetric Lifecycle Engagement (SCALE) network of universities brought together to meet the semiconductor workforce needs of the defense sector. Metro State and St. Thomas have also joined -- a reflection of the state’s strong semiconductor ecosystem. Read more.
